It was hard for me to ask for help. As man I am not supposed to show that I am sad or feel lost.
I am always supposed to be in control and admit that I need help.

But I did need help. My friend had just died from cancer. It was only three months from diagnosis to his death. He left behind a wife and two young boys. To say that I felt sad was not enough, I felt disoriented and lost. I felt guilty that I was still alive. I felt a sense of cruelty from the universe of taking him when he had just started raising his sons. I felt profoundly sad that his sons would not have a father present. I need help to cope with all of this.
